Geocode Outputs

The following table lists the available output fields and their definitions.
Note: Your selected fields will display in the header of your geocoded results file prepended with "out_"; for example, "out_X".
Output Field Name Description
Default Fields - The following fields will be returned by default.
X Longitude of the candidate.
Y Latitude of the candidate.
Precision Code A code describing the precision of the geocode.

The possible match categories are as follows:

Z1
Postal match with post code 1 centroid.
Z2
Postal match with partial post code 2 centroid.
Z3
Postal match with post code 2 centroid.
G1
Geographic match with area name 1 centroid.
G2
Geographic match with area name 2 centroid.
G3
Geographic match with area name 3 centroid.
G4
Geographic match with area name 4 centroid.

The matches in the 'S' category indicate that the record was matched to a single address candidate.

SX
Point located at a street intersection.
SC
Match point located at the house-level that has been projected from the nearest segment.
S0
No coordinates are available, but parts of the address may have matched the source data.
S4
The geocode is located at a street centroid.
S5
The geocode is located at a street address.
S7
The geocode is located at a street address that has been interpolated between point house locations.
S8
Match point located at the house location.
Additional match information is of the format HPNTSCSZA. If a match result was not made for the specified component, a dash (-) will appear in place of a letter.
H
House number.
P
Street prefix direction.
N
Street name.
T
Street type.
S
Street suffix direction.
C
City name.
Z
Post code.

Geocoding dataset.
Source Dictionary Identifies the dictionary that is the source for the candidate information and data. The source dictionary is a 0-based integer value that indicates which configured dictionary the candidate came from.
Country The three-letter ISO 3166-1 Alpha-3 country code. For a listing of the countries and associated ISO country codes, see Supported Countries.
Optional Fields - The following fields may be selected to be returned as desired.
Formatted Street Address The formatted main address line.
Formatted Location Address The formatted last address line.
Place Name The building name, place name, Point of Interest (POI), company or firm name associated with the address.
Area Name 1 The largest geographic area, such as a state, province or region.
Area Name 2 The secondary geographic area, such as a county or district.
Area Name 3 The town or city.
Area Name 4 The city subdivision or locality. For Puerto Rico, the urbanization.
Post Code 1 The postal code in the appropriate format for the country.
Post Code 2 The secondary postal code, if used, in the appropriate format for the country. For USA, the 4-digit ZIP Code extension.
Street Side USA only. Indicates which side of the street the address is located on. One of the following:
L
The address is on the left side of the street.
R
The address is on the right side of the street.
B
The address occupies both sides of the street.
U
The street side is unknown.
Blank
The address did not match a street segment (for example, the address was geocoded to a centroid).
Range Parity USA only. Indicates the parity of the house number in the range:

Both
County Name USA only. The county.
Block USA only. The 15-digit census block ID/census FIPS code, using the syntax sscccttttttgbbb where:
  • ss—2-digit State FIPS Code
  • ccc—3-digit County FIPS Code
  • tttttt—6-digit Census Tract FIPS Code (without period)
  • g—Single-digit Block FIPS Code
  • bbb—Block FIPS Code
Match Code USA only. Match codes indicate the portions of the address that matched or did not match to the reference data. For descriptions of match codes, see USA Match Codes.
MM Result Code The MapMarker result code for the address. See result codes in MapMarker (MM) Result Codes.
LOC Code USA only. Location codes indicate the accuracy of the assigned geocode. For descriptions of location codes, see USA Location Codes.
Datatype Name The data set used to geocode the address.
Precision Level A code describing the precision of the geocode. One of the following:

No coordinate information is available for this candidate address.
1
Interpolated street address.
2
Street segment midpoint.
3
Postal code 1 centroid.
4
Partial postal code 2 centroid.
5
Postal code 2 centroid.

Intersection.

Point of interest. (If database contains POI data.)

State/province centroid.
